Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable flexible correspondence to various processing modes, for example, processing into a curved shape when processing and cutting a workpiece using a wire saw.SOLUTION: A wire saw device 1 has: one robot arm 2 freely movable by multiaxial control; a wire saw unit 3 connected to the robot arm 2; a wire 8 stretched over plural pulleys 5 pivotally supported in the wire saw unit 3; and a workpiece cutting zone 20 set between the pulleys. The workpiece 6 is cut into a prescribed shape by making the wire 8 of the wire saw unit 3 travel while moving the robot arm 2 in a previously set direction to press the wire 8 onto the retained workpiece.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
