Abstract:
To provide a control wire guide for using for a flexible endoscope which does not bring a deflection loss in an active deflection part of the endoscope by its use.
A medical device having a flexible shaft is provided. The flexible shaft has the active deflection part. The medical device also has at least one control wire passing through at least a portion of the flexible shaft such that actuation of at least one control wire causes deflection of the active deflection part of the flexible shaft. At least one control wire guide is provided which surrounds at least one control wire along at least a portion of a length thereof. At least one control wire guide is formed from a superelastic metal alloy and is configured as a helical spring.
