PURPOSE: To stably supply wire to a work at a proper tension by rotating movable bodies of a wire feed means in a second rotation direction which is inverse to a first rotation direction when a tension applied on the wire is changed, and setting the tension applied on the wire material to a specified tension.

CONSTITUTION: A drive belt 314 and a follower belt 321 as movable bodies of a wire feed means 250 are rotated in a first rotation direction, and wire W is supplied to a work (deflection yoke for a Braun tube) at a specified tension. At this time, a tension detection means 50 detects the tension applied to the wire W, and when it detects that the tension applied to the wire W is changed, a control means 300 rotates the drive belt 314 and the follower belt 321 of the wire feed means 250 in a second rotation direction which is inverse to the first rotation direction. The tension applied to the wire W is thus set to the specified tension.
