PURPOSE: To reduce the transfer resistance of a wire material and reduce the driving power by taking up the final turn part of the wire material in the compulsorily transferred state to the collar side of a taking-up drum, apart for the previous turn part immediately before the final turn part is taken up onto the taking-up drum.
CONSTITUTION: A wire material 16 is closely taken up onto a taking-up drum during the transverse feed by a traverser. Before the closely taken-up wire material 16 reaches the collar of the taking-up drum, a compulsory transferring jig 18 for the wire material is raised and advanced, and the turn part of the wire material 16 is engaged between the disc-shaped rollers 38, 36, and 34. Each time when each turn is rolled up, the disc-shaped roller 38 and a compulsory transferring member 40 for wire material are shifted, together with a movable frame 32, by a motor 52, and the turn part 16a on the outermost side for the turn part interposed between the rollers 34 and 36 is roughly taken up, transferring to the collar side. The transfer jig 18 is advanced so that the final turn forms a gap (d) between the collars. Therefore, the wire material cap be transferred without receiving a large resistance, and a driving power can be reduced.
