To enable a wire tightening tool to absorb the tolerance of the outside diameters of cable sizes with one piece of wedge bodies, and to be applied to the different cable sizes within a specified range while utilizing the elasticity of elastic material by forming the cable outside periphery engaging parts of the wedge bodies of the elastic materials.
The wedge bodies 10 are split into two parts and have the cable outside periphery engaging parts 11 on the inside surfaces. The wedge bodies are constituted to have tapered parts 12 on their outer peripheries. The cable outside periphery engaging parts 11 of the wedge bodies 10 are formed of the elastic materials. Rubber and soft plastic are usable as the elastic materials. The cable outside periphery engaging parts 11 may be integrated to the tapered part 12 side by adhesives or baking coating, etc., but if these parts are so formed as to be made freely attainably and detachably built into the tapered part 12 side, the adaptation to various kinds of the cable sizes by exchanging only the cable outside periphery engaging parts 11 formed of the elastic materials is possible and, therefore, such constitution is more preferable.
