To simplify the installation work of a sensor when communication is performed with a wireless tag by time division multiple access using a common wireless communication band between each individual sensors in a wireless authentication system where a plurality of sensors are arranged along the moving space of a detection object such that the detection object areas overlap partially between the sensors and a wireless tag carried by the detection object performs communication with one of the sensors thus detecting the movement of the detection object.
A first sensor S1 transmits slot No. 1 used by itself as a notification of using slot, subsequent sensors S2 and S3 detect open slots excepting the slot No. 1 and transmit a notification of using slot including the slot No. 1 used before to the detected slot No. 2. Consequently, setting can be performed automatically not to use the same slot including a sensor adjacent to the adjoining sensor.
