To provide a wireless communication apparatus capable of properly connecting a mobile terminal and the wireless communication apparatus to be connected even when there is another wireless communicable device having the same identification name (device name) around.

The wireless communication apparatus which is connected with a device whose connection is requested and performs wireless communication with the device whose connection is requested includes: a storage means for storing a self identification name for identifying the wireless communication apparatus; a detection means for detecting the identification name of the other device present around the wireless communication apparatus; a comparison means for comparing the detected identification name of the other device and the self identification name; a change means for changing the self identification name when the identification name that the other device has and the self identification name are identical as the result of comparison by the comparison means; and a transmission means for transmitting the changed self identification name changed by the change means to the device whose connection is requested.
