To provide a radio communication device for a vehicle in which a battery as power supply is used more efficiently.

The radio communication device for the vehicle equipped with security system is to sense the present position of the vehicle concerned and transmit the sensed position information to a communication device located outside the vehicle and is furnished with a radio communication means to transmit the position information to the communication device outside the vehicle and a power supply control means to turn on and off the power supply of the radio communication means, wherein the power supply control means puts on the power supply to the radio communication means when an alarm is issued by the security system and shuts off the power supply after elapse of a predetermined time since the position information was transmitted. When the radio communication means has received from the communication device outside the vehicle, the instruction information to instruct the prolongation of the predetermined time, the power supply control means prolongs the predetermined time in conformity to the instruction information.
