To provide a wireless communication system and a wireless communication method whereby ensuring the orthogonality of spread codes can adopt orthogonal spread codes in uplink transmission thereby considerably increasing an uplink communication capacity.
Communication terminals MS#1 to MS#N use orthogonal spread codes unique to its own station to spread transmission data, form OFCDM signals by applying OFDM modulation to the signals subjected to the spread processing, and a base station BS receives the OFCDM signals from the communication terminals MS#1 to MS#N, applies OFDM demodulation to the received signals, and applies inverse spread processing using the orthogonal spread codes unique to the communication terminals to the signals subjected to the OFDM demodulation to obtain the transmission data from the communication terminals MS#1 to MS#N.
