To provide a radio communication system capable of enhancing signal transmission efficiency and suppressing equipment cost by enabling mobile communication equipment to autonomously generate a training sequence in accordance with the number of frames of a transmission signal from the mobile communication equipment to a radio base station.
The radio base station 2 provided with an adaptive array antenna and a portable mobile terminal 3 constitute the radio communication system. The portable mobile terminal 3 generates a training sequence whose sequence length is long or short in accordance with the number of frames of the transmission signal to the radio base station 2. The radio base station 2 controls a weighting coefficient for weighting and combining signals received by the adaptive array antenna on the basis of the training sequence included in the signals from the portable mobile terminal 3.
