To provide a random access with smaller overhead under such a communication environment that two or more communication modes of different transmission rates exist.
A high speed station disguises information of packet length and rate at a general decoding part so that the value of dividing the packet length by the rate will be the value for the period to stop the communication. An existing station receives the remaining packets with the designated rate in the period of dividing the packet length by the rate if it receives a general decoding part disguising information of the packet length and the rate. The packets are discarded since the rate and the packet length are different from those of the packet actually transmitted and the packet can not be decoded properly.
