To provide a wireless flash system for a camera capable of reducing the number of light emitting times of a 1st flash and minimizing an exposure error.
This system is equipped with a 1st flash having a photometry part measuring the luminance of a subject in the case of stationary light and in the case of preliminary light emission, respectively, an arithmetic part arithmetically calculating emitted light quantity in the case of normal light emission based on the luminance of the subject in the case of the stationary light and in the case of the preliminary light emission, and a light emitting part emitting signal light at time intervals in accordance with the arithmetically calculated emitted light quantity data, and a 2nd flash 30 having a light receiving part 32 receiving the signal light from the 1st flash, a control part controlling the emitted light quantity corresponding to the time interval of the signal light received by the light receiving part 32 and a light emitting part 42 normally emitting light in compliance with control from the control part as well as performing the preliminary light emission.
