To provide a method of forming a radio multihop network capable of shortening a transmission time of a packet, and to provide a radio communication device.
The method of forming the radio multihop network having a plurality of nodes connected to enable communication by radio includes a first step for detecting a close node capable of communication by one hop at each node; a second step for connecting the adjacent nodes each other for enabling communication by a polling system, and for forming a plurality of polling clusters each comprising one node operating as a master and at least one node operating as a slave; a third step for detecting adjacent polling clusters at each polling cluster; and a fourth step for setting a communication route enabling communication by a carrier sense system between the adjacent polling clusters.
