Title:
WOOD CLUB FORMED TO SWEET SPOT OVER THE ENTIRE SURFACE OF HEAD FACE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH09168612
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To offer an effect in making a score and to enable a golfer to enjoy a comfortable play by bringing a weight into collision against the rear surface of the face by a spring with a reaction so as to attain an exact meeting at the time of the shot by the club, thereby forming the entire surface of the head face as the sweet spot.

This club head is formed of a hollow metal head 1 for which metals, such as Duralumin (R), stainless steel, titanium, etc., are used. A sole 2 is formed as an aperture. One end of a spring 4 which is freely expandable and contractable and is movably vertically and laterally is fixed to the rear part 3 in the head 1 and the weight 5 is mounted at the other end. The weight is so positioned that the weight is capable of arriving at the rear surface of the head face 6 when the spring 4 extends. The spring and the weight are mounted in the head and the sole 2 is capped in the aperture and is stopped and sealed by rivets 7. When the golfer shots the club, the weight 5 comes into collision against the rear surface of the face 6 hit with the ball by the reaction and the spring 4 even if the ball hits any point of the head face 6, thereby attaining the just meeting. The entire surface of the head face 6 is thus formed as the sweet spot.
