Abstract:

To provide a wood modifying agent and a wood modifying method, by which superior dimensional stability and durability can be imparted to wood and by which, by the use of natural resin, adverse effect on an environment and health can be prevented or mitigated when manufacturing the wood modifying agent, processing wood, and using modified wood.

The wood modifying agent contains vegetable oil containing epoxy group and a hardening agent. The wood modifying method is characterized in that, after wood is treated with the wood modifying agent, the wood is heated and hardened. The modified wood is obtained by modifying wood through the use of the wood modifying agent or the wood modifying method.
