Title:
WOOD RIBBON
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2011224903
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To form a wood ribbon by planing a wood material thinly in the longitudinal direction in such a way as to make use of the natural color and grain and adhering together two belt-shaped thin wood plates formed by the planing, use the wood ribbon as an ornament and improve living environments, e.g. through air cleaning.

The wood ribbon which is rich in flexibility, causes less shrinkage and has a wood color without right/wrong sides and a wood grain pattern is formed by horizontally patching together the grains of two or more plates of wood with a difference among the specific gravity of the wood materials at the air-dried specific gravity water content of 15% being 0.3 or smaller by using a wood working adhesive, planing the adhered plates in the longitudinal direction so that there appears a pattern, adhering the planed belt-shaped thin wood plates together with an adhesive for perfect binding and adjusting the thicknesses of the two belt-shaped thin wood plates to 0.10-0.38 mm. When expanded in the form of e.g. a ribbon or a net, the wood ribbon is usable in all types of decorations. It may be expanded in a curly form and wound around decorations. It may be arranged in a proper indoor place by cutting and/or adhesion so as to achieve an aesthetic effect as decorative accents. Furthermore, it exerts a forest therapy effect and air-cleaning action in indoor, resulting in synergistic improvement of living environments.
