PURPOSE: To obtain the drying device of hot air horizontally circulating system, in which hot air is circulated into a pair of upper and lower hollow rolls constituting respective stage transfer passages in a necessary number of heating sections in a direction orthogonal to a transferred wood veneer.

CONSTITUTION: The upper ventilation passage of hot air is constituted by providing fans and heaters at both upper sides of a necessary number of heating sections provided continuously and the transfer passage of hot air is constituted of a plurality of sets of feeding rolls 8, arranged below the upper ventilation passage in the direction of transferring with an arbitrary space and consisting of a pair of upper and lower rolls while an inner wall, restricting the inflow of hot air into the transfer passage, is established between the upper ventilation passage and the transfer passage of hot air supplying side. The lengthwise direction end of the feed roll 8, positioned at the supplying side of hot air, is supported by the inner wall rotatably under opened condition and a multitude of hot air injection holes 18 are bored on the circumferential surface of the feed roll 8 to form the circulating routes of hot air while hot air, supplied from the upper ventilation passage, is injected directly against the surface of the wood venner on the way of carrying the wood veneer 1 by one set of upper and lower feeding rolls 8.
