PURPOSE: To produce a wooden panel material enhanced in strength in its thickness direction and having dimensional stability not generating swelling due to moisture absorption or deformation due to swelling with the enhanced workability at the time of the molding of a curved object or the utilization of a mold.
CONSTITUTION: Small wood pieces at fibrillated to form a wooden fiber material 1 which is, in turn, accumulated in a laminar shape to form wooden fiber accumulated matter 2. This matter 2 is subjected to needle punching to be formed into preformed matter which is, in turn, heated and pressed to obtain a wooden panel material wherein the fibers of the wooden fiber material are mutually entangled and the arranging directions of the fibers are almost isotropic.
