PURPOSE: To execute a "KANA" (Japanese syllabary)-"KANJI" (Chinese character) conversion in a short time, by storing a noninflective word in an inflective dictionary part by putting a special symbol as the root of a word of an inflective word, and storing the inflective word in an attached word table, in case when the compositive word and phrase of the noninflective word and the inflective word become just like one inflective word.

CONSTITUTION: In case of a word constituted of a noun and a SA-line varied case inflective verb such as "happyo-suru" (announce) and "hatsumei-suru" (invent), it is stored in an inflective dictionary part by regarding it as the root of a word of one inflective word. In that case, it is not the root of a word in a grammatically correct sense, therefore, a special code for discriminating it from said root is put. In this state, when inputting "KANA" for a "KANJI" conversion, in case when it is not known exactly that said "KANA" is a noun or a verb, first of all, the inflective dictionary part whose word number is smaller than a word dictionary is referred to. In this case, even if a special symbol is put, when said word can be found in the inflective dictionary part, the "KANA"-"KANJI" conversion can be executed in a short time even in case when the ending of a word is attached.
