PURPOSE: To provide a word processor to make a Japanese sentence capable of being read efficiently in a short time by providing a display means to display a Japanese character string in which a space or a specified punctuation mark is inserted by the designation of specified display on a display screen.
CONSTITUTION: An input means 101 inputs the Japanese character string and the designation of the specified display for editing the Japanese sentence. A storage means 102 stores the inputted Japanese character string. A dictionary means 103 stores a dictionary and grammar information for analyzing the Japanese sentence. Then, the Japanese character string stored in the storage means 102 is analyzed by a clause unit or a word unit on the basis of the dictionary means 103. A mark inserting means 105 inserts the space or the specified punctuation mark into the punctuation part of the clause or the word of the analyzed Japanese character string. The display means 106 displays the Japanese character string stored in the storage means 102 or the Japanese character string in which the space of the specified punctuation mark is inserted by the designation of the specified display from the input means 101 on the display screen.
