Abstract:
PURPOSE: To reduce the processing time by adding information of a coded data length discriminated at coding to a compressed data and informing the sum so as to omit the calculation of a code data size through the detection of a delimiter code at decoding.
CONSTITUTION: An original picture by predetermined line number is transferred from an original picture buffer 1a to a coding processing buffer 1c and coded and compressed by a coding circuit 1.. When the compressed data is transferred from the coding processing buffer 1c to a coding data transmission buffer 1d, coding data length information is added to the compressed data. As an example of a compressed data stream, a length of the code data length information 3c added is represented to be a length 3b by using an identifier 3a to indicate the code data length information so that it is not mixed with the code data. The code data received by a line transmission circuit 2a is stored in a code data reception buffer 2b and the reception data of the information of the code data length to be read is transferred to a decoding processing buffer 2d according to the identifier 3a to start a decoding circuit 2c thereby decoding the picture.
