To have provide a work assisting device for positioning an object at a desired part by an operator and hold it at the position.

The work assisting device has a first column 103 fixed on the back surface of a seat back 101 of a chair for dental treatment and a second column 104 attached movably in the axial direction of the first column 103 and extended forward, and the second column 104 is movable in the axial direction of the first column 103. Articulated arms 111 and 112 attached movably in the axial direction of the second column 104 are movable in the axial direction of the second column 104. A plurality of movable parts included in the articulated arms 111 and 112 are respectively provided with a locking mechanism 130, a holder 120 is attached to the end of the articulated arm 111 or 112 through a universal joint 121 including the locking mechanism 130 and a dental mirror 125 is mounted on the holder 120.
