A self-travelling unit 20 includes a supporting body 30 engaged with a guide rail 18 by sandwiching the guide rail 18 by a tire 44, follower rollers 60, 62, 64 and 66, and a shaft member 46 connecting the supporting body 30 and a tip side arm member 14. The shaft member 46 is inserted in a through-hole 84 formed in the supporting body 30 (a bearing part 82) so as to be freely displaceable. The tip side arm member 14 which constitutes a balance arm 12 is provided with a chucking mechanism 16 and when the chucking mechanism 16 holds a work, the tip side arm member 14 is bent downward in the vertical direction so that the shaft member 46 is displaced along the through-hole 84 downward in the vertical direction. Thereafter, when the tire 44 starts rotation under the action of a motor 42 and the supporting body 30 starts travelling along the guide rail 18, the work is carried in response.
