Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a work chuck device facilitating grasping and fixing a stepped shaped work having a large diameter part on the base side and a small diameter part on the tip part, and a friction welding device capable of efficiently conducting friction welding using the work chuck device.
SOLUTION: A chuck body 30 of the work chuck device 10 mounted rotatably on a rotary friction welding device 22 is provided with a dividing opening/ closing body 34 openable/closable by a opening/closing shaft 32 along a rotating shaft 30A, and by housing a second work 16 having the large diameter part on the base side in a hollow part 36 formed by the chuck body 30 and the dividing opening/closing body 34, and making the dividing opening/closing body 34 perform closing movement, a small diameter part 16a on the tip side of the second work 16 is grasped and fixed. And the grasped second work 16 is friction welded to the first work, while rotating the chuck body 30 which the friction welding device is grasping, to perform the mutual friction welding for the first and the second works.
