Abstract:
PURPOSE: To prevent reverse rotational operation of a scroll compressor so as to enhance reliability of a compression mechanism unit, a slide unit and the like in the case where a discharge pressure is increased caused by a failure or the like of a fan of a heat exchanger.
CONSTITUTION: An electric motor unit 2 and a compression mechanism unit 3 are housed inside a closed container 1, in the upper portion of which a discharge chamber 4 is provided for temporarily storing discharge gas. A suction chamber 5, where a suction gas pressure acts, is disposed in the lower portion of the closed container 1. The electric motor unit 2 is contained in the suction chamber 5, and a pressure relief valve 7 is disposed on a partition wall 6 between the discharge chamber 4 and the suction chamber 5. A thermal response type overcurrent protector 13 for the electric motor unit 2 is provided in the vicinity of an outlet on a low pressure side of the pressure relief valve 7.
