PURPOSE: To permit to feed the work continuously in high speed without providing a pushing device by a method wherein the work is attracted by electromagnetic force, varying sequentially along a transfer path, to send to a transfer guide rail and feed it to the double head grinder.

CONSTITUTION: The work 2, supplied by a supplying guide rail 1, is attracted one by one at a receiving unit A to a local attracting surface 9A in the attracting surface 4 of the electromagnetic chuck 3 by an attracting force in accordance with the configuration and the material of the work 2. Next, the work 2 is sent to a sending part C via a rotary sending part B as the electromagnetic chuck 3 is rotated while the attracting force is weakened here to separate the work at the entrance of the transfer guide rail 5. The work 2, entered into the guide rail 5, is fed inbetween a pair of grinding wheels 6, 7 in the double head grinder to grind both surfaces thereof. Said electromagnetic chuck 3 is constituted so as to equip a plurality of electromagnets 9 which are impressed by a sequentially varying voltage in order to transfer the work 2 reasonably.
