PURPOSE: To enable transfer of jigs between plural work fitting shops and between each work fitting shop and a jig depository.

CONSTITUTION: In a work fitting shop 10A, there are provided set stations 14A, 14B where works are set on jigs 12A, 12B, a fitting station 18A, where works are fitted, and jig transfer trucks 20A which are load with jigs 12A, 12B and move between the set station 14A, the fitting station 18A and a second set station 14B. In a jig depository 26, there are stored jigs 14A-14D and a spare jig 12E. In a jig carrier 28, there are provided a jig holding means 32 for holding jigs 14A-14E and a jig moving means 38 for moving the jig holding means 32 between the work fitting shops 10A, 10B and between each work fitting shop 10A, 10B and the jig depository 26.
