An electronic document in which operation results are sequentially written by respective operators in a work flow is disclosed/shared by a server. A state section code indicating the advanced operation stage of the document is stored and which operator is to have editorial right or reference right is determined in accordance with the state section code. For instance, the editorial right is given to an operator A in a situation that writing by the operator A is required and the editorial right of the operator A is stripped and given to an operator B in a situation that writing by the operator B is required. When writing by the operator A is required again after transferring the editorial right to the operator B, the editorial right of the operator B is stripped and given to the operator A.
