To provide an opening/closing work implement in which an operator does not need to operate carefully while adjusting a closing force applied to an opening/closing operation part by delicately increasing or reducing the closing force, and in which an object can be easily held without being damaged by an extremely simple operation of merely gripping or pinching the opening/closing operation part 5 by fingertips.

An opening/closing work implement comprises: a first half body 1 and a second half body 2 pivoted in a crosswise manner; an opening/closing working part 4 provided at the tip of the implement; and an opening/closing operation part 5 provided at the proximal end of the implement in which the opening/closing operation part 5 is bent to bring a contact part 7 and a receiving part 6 into contact with each other when a closing force is applied to the opening/closing operation part 5 while increasing the closing force. The opening/closing operation part 5 is further bent but the closing force is not transmitted to the opening/closing working part 4 when the closing force is further increased while the receiving part 6 and the contact part 7 are in contact with each other. Thus, a holding force of the opening/closing working part 4 is prevented from being increased to be equal to or larger than the holding force corresponding to the closing force when the receiving part 6 and the contact part 7 are in contact with each other.
