To provide a workpiece inspection device excellent in detection accuracy.SOLUTION: A workpiece inspection device 10 comprises: an illumination unit 12 which irradiates a recess R being an inspection target portion of a workpiece W with light; a camera 11 which can image the recess R in such a state that the light is irradiated from the illumination unit 12; an image determination unit 27 which determines whether or not the recess R can be recognized from a photographed image Ia captured by the camera 11; and a control unit 30 which controls the illumination unit 12 as a control target A. The control unit 30 is configured to change the control state of the illumination unit 12 when the image determination unit 27 determines that the recess R cannot be recognized. The image determination unit 27 is configured to determine whether or not the recess R can be recognized from the photographed image Ia captured by the camera again after change of the control state of the illumination unit 12.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
