Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a work mounting device and a method, wherein a mounting head which mounts a work such as an electronic component on an object such as a printed board can be lessened in weight and moved at a high speed.
SOLUTION: A first rotator 15 and a second rotator 16 are housed in the case 11 of a mounting head 10, and a screw shaft 12 is inserted into the center of them. A nozzle 33 is linked to the lower end of the screw shaft 12 to serve as a chuck. A magnet 21 and a stator 22 which rotate the first rotator 15 are provided. A clutch member 23 which disconnects the rotators 15 and 16 from each other or connects them together. When the rotators 15 and 16 are connected together by the clutch member 23, the screw shaft 12 moves vertically, and when the rotators 15 and 16 are disconnected from each other, the screw shaft 12 rotates. Therefore, the nozzle 33 can be moved vertically and rotated by a single set of the magnet 21 and the stator 22.
