Title:
WORK SENSOR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5956982
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To eliminate the directivity in detection and to detect accurately the object to be welded with a simple power supply device by operating a rotating device to move the other end of a stylus to the same position as the tip of a welding wire and detecting electric discharge.

CONSTITUTION: When electricity is conducted to the coil of a rotary solenoid 9, a rotating shaft 9' rotates and a transmission shaft 19 and a rotating body 23 rotate; at the same time, a stylus 25 rotates, and when it is inserted into a positioning groove 28, the rotation is stopped. The other end of the stylus 25 is disposed in the same position where the tip of a welding wire fed in a torch 1 is ought to exist. A DC current of a power supply device is impressed between the stylus 25 and an object to be welded and the position of the arm of a welding robot is moved so that the stylus 25 touches the object. Electricity is discharged here, and the discharge is detected by a control section such as a computer of the robot, by which the position of the arm in the discharge stage is detected and the position of the object is detected.
