To provide a structure in which a part of a load is dispersed to the toe box by superimposing the tip end part of an instep protector on the rear end portion of the toe box incorporated in an upper and in which the superimposition of the tip end portion of the instep protector on the rear end portion of the toe box is made hardly releasable.
A work shoe includes: an upper 4 forming a part to put a foot in; a hard toe box 2 incorporated in the toe portion constituted by the upper 4; and an instep protector 3 covering the instep part of the upper 4. The toe box 2 is a bowl-shaped shell body having a side wall widened right and left toward an opening provided rearward. The instep protector 3 has, in the tip end inner face, a shape closely resembling the contour of the side wall widening right and left of the toe box 2. The instep protector 3 is restrained from moving to the rear by the engagement of the tip end portion with the side wall widening right and left of the toe box through a leather forming the upper 4.
