PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To establish a structure of a work transporting device equipped with transport pawls of opening and closing type embodied in a simple mechanism and assuring an enhanced producibility. SOLUTION: The work transporting device is equipped with a clamping pawl 4 serving as a couple with a reference pawl 3 to make location of a work, a supporting members 5 and 6 to move the reference pawl 3 and clamping pawl 4, respectively, a lever 9 to perform rotational reciprocations, and cams 12 and 13 to reciprocate the pawl supporting members 5 and 6, respectively, with rotation of the lever 9, wherein the distance between the reference pawl and clamping pawl lessens in the condition that the tip of the lever 9 has moved in the transporting direction so that the location of the work is established.
