To provide a work transport device which can make transport with buffer capability in compliance with different sorts of plate-form works having different shapes and dimensions.

A work transport device is composed of pushout members 41 and 41' abutting on a plate-form work W, a transporting mechanism 1 equipped with a first moving mechanism 2 to move the pushout members 41 and 41' in reciprocations for a certain distance horizontally on one axial direction and additional moving mechanisms 3 and 4 to advance and retreat the pushout members 41 and 41' horizontally on one axial direction with respect to the first moving mechanism 2 while adjustability is reserved for the advancing/retreating amount in accordance with the dimensions of the work W, and a buffer mechanism 5 which stacks a plurality of works W fed by the transporting mechanism 1 in accordance with their dimensions and shapes. This allows the device to operate in well compliance with the fed works in a plurality of sorts having different dimensions and shapes.
