To provide a workbench which is simplified in structure, facilitates and ensures locking thereof in a leg-open position thereof, and facilitates releasing of the locking.
The workbench includes mounting plates 3 fixed to both edges of a top board 11, and connecting plates 4A fixed to upper edges of respective leg bodies 2 and rotatably connected to the respective mounting plates 3, to thereby switchingly assume a leg-closed position in which the leg bodies 2 are folded almost in parallel with an underside of the top board 11, and the leg-open position in which the leg bodies 2 are erected downward from the top board 11. According to the workbench, an engaging pin 6 is protruded from the mounting plate 3, and a hook 5A engageable with the engaging pin 6 is pivotally mounted on the connecting plate 4 by means of a pivoting pin 90, followed by arranging a torsional coil spring 7A for applying elastic force to the hook 5A in a direction that always engages with the engaging pin 6. Thus, in the leg-open position, the hook 5A automatically engages with and locks to the engaging pin 6. Further, locking can be released by resisting the elastic force of the torsional coil spring 7A.
