This working apparatus 1 includes: a base 2; workpiece holding/rotating means 5 mounted on the base 2 for holding and rotating the workpiece W; machining means 11 provided on the base 2, which is structured to be freely advanceable/retreatable in the direction toward the workpiece W through a slider mechanism 7 and equipped with a machining tool 9; pressing means 13 for pressing the machining tool 9 in the direction toward the workpiece W through the machining means 11; and following means 15 installed for the machining means 11, which follows the shape of the workpiece W to advance/retreat the whole machining means 11 by abutting the workpiece W. The workpiece holding/rotating means 5 is provided with a workpiece axial angle adjustment mechanism 21 capable of adjusting the angle of the rotating axis L of the workpiece W in such a state as to hold the workpiece W.
