To provide a working device and working method of a fine recessed part, capable of forming fine recessed parts at partially changed depths on a circumferential surface of a work with satisfactory accuracy and achieving the reduction of a working cost.
The fine recessed part working device 1 comprises a form roller 11 for forming the recessed parts, a roller support member 12 which freely rotatably supports the form roller 11, a tool holder 10 which holds the roller support member in the state that the central axis of the circumferential surface and the rotating shaft of the form roller 11 are held parallel, a compression coil spring 20 which makes the form roller abut on the circumferential surface by applying loads to the roller support member, an adapter 10C which changes the abutting load of the form roller 11 with respect to the circumferential surface, a main shaft 3 which rotates the work and the tool holder relatively around the central axis of the circumferential surface, and a rotary encoder 16 which detects the main phase of the main shaft.
