PURPOSE: To provide a shaft material working device easy to change a pair of rollers by making up a pair of inclined rollers to clamp and advance the shaft material into such a state that they are twisted in a cage as skelton round a pass line.

CONSTITUTION: A pair of inclined rollers 1 is made up into such a state that they are twisted in the cage 2 as skelton round the pass line 3 and it is structurally held in a roller stand 5 so that an interval between rollers can be adjusted by a rolling reduction device 4. When the pair 1 of inclined rollers is changed, all pairs 6 of spindles with adjustable joints are stopped by a spindle holding device 9 from their mutual movement and the pair 1 of inclined rollers and the cage 2 are hung on the end part of the spindle in the posture of operation. Then, the roller stand 5 is cut off the cage 2 and moves to such a direction that it is separated from the pair 7 of distribution gears.
