Abstract:

To prevent degradation in fuel economy by reducing fuel consumption without increasing noises and vibrations of an engine and complicating a configuration thereof in a state in which the required quantity of fuels to be supplied is a little such e.g., under a light load or during idling, in an engine including a plurality of cylinders.

In a direct fuel injection type working gas circulation type engine including a plurality of cylinders, when a load of the engine is less than a predetermined value, supply of fuels to at least a part of the plurality of cylinders is stopped and fuels included in combusted gases re-supplied into the cylinders are combusted in all the cylinders. As a result, the engine is operated with a suitable quantity of fuels to be supplied in accordance with the load of the engine without increasing noises and vibration of an engine and complicating a configuration thereof.
