Abstract:
PURPOSE: To improve productivity of a toothed shaft having gear teeth with different diameters adjoining in the axial direction on the outer circumference, and easily obtain many kinds of shafts provided with gear teeth having different diameters.
CONSTITUTION: By forging, a toothed shaft 10 having first gear teeth 12 on the outer circumference, and a shaft raw material 14 having larger diameter than that of the toothed shaft 10 and circular outer circumferential face, are separately formed. The shaft raw material 14 and the toothed shaft 10 are coaxially welded together by friction welding. Next, by cutting work, second teeth 17 are formed on the outer circumferential part of the shaft raw material 14.
