Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To work a soft polyurethane block into a correct shaped model by relatively setting rotating speed of a rotary cutting edge and moving speed so that at high rotating speed the rotary cutting edge is contacted with the urethane block and hence friction resistance is reduced.
SOLUTION: Since a rotating speed and a moving speed of a rotary cutting edge 3 are relatively set so that the rotating speed of the rotary cutting edge 3 becomes high rotating speed, a time in which a edge part compresses an urethane block 1 in the rotating direction becomes short. Consequently, friction resistance of the contact part between the rotary cutting edge 3 and the urethane block 1 is reduced, co-rotation is prevented so as to perform sure cutting, and elastic deformation of the contact part between the rotary cutting edge 3 and the urethane block 1 is reduced to the utmost. As a result, change of the form is not generated after cutting by the rotary cutting edge 3, and hence the block can be cut into a desired form.
