To convey a workpiece such that it is transferred to a work treatment device in the state of being positioned.

The workpiece conveying device 21 comprises: a belt conveyor 31 for conveying the workpiece W having an approximately square plane shape; and a back-up mechanism 32 for picking up the workpiece W conveyed by the belt conveyor 31 for transferring to a workpiece treatment device facing the belt conveyor. The belt conveyor 31 is provided with a conveying belt for placing the workpiece W in the state where its part is projected, and for conveying it in this state. The back-up mechanism 32 is provided with: a stopping stopper 51 on which the projection portion Wa of the workpiece W conveyed by the conveying belt 41 is abutted approximately symmetrically relative to a conveying direction; a workpiece stage 52 for lifting up the workpiece W stopped by the stopping stopper 51 from below; and a lifting mechanism 53 for lifting the workpiece stage 52.
