Abstract:
To provide a workpiece machining device and a method, which can perform grooving on a surface of a workpiece with high accuracy on the workpiece having the convex curve-shaped surface outside.SOLUTION: A workpiece machining device (1) machines a workpiece having a convex curve-shaped surface outside. The workpiece machining device includes: a workpiece support section (28) which supports a workpiece to be rotatable around a first shaft; a cutting section (22) which has a blade for cutting the surface of the workpiece supported by the workpiece support section; a sensor section (26) which measures the surface of the workpiece; an arithmetic section (16) which calculates a surface shape of the workpiece on a plane perpendicular to the first shaft on the basis of a measurement result of the surface of the workpiece and calculates a cutting position for forming grooves on the surface of the workpiece on the basis of the surface shape of the workpiece and an interval between the grooves formed on the surface of the workpiece; and a control section (12) which forms the grooves at the cutting position by relatively moving the workpiece support section and the cutting section on the basis of the cutting position calculated by the arithmetic section.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
