To smoothly reverse a workpiece without providing a means for vertically moving the workpiece and without generating impact during transfer regardless of the difference in thickness of workpieces.
A steel reversing device is configured such that a first pallet 8 and a second pallet 16 each for holding steel w are respectively raised upright by rotating them each other so as to transfer the steel w from the second pallet 16 to the first pallet 8. The first pallet 8 is raised upright while being rotated by a hydraulic cylinder 18. The second pallet 16 is raised upright while being rotated by a hydraulic cylinder 22. The device is provided with a moving mechanism 28 that allows the first pallet 8 to be mounted on a sliding plate 7, sliding along rails, and to be horizontally moved by a hydraulic cylinder 26 in order to adjust a gap between the first pallet 8 and the second pallet 16 rotated at an inclination angle of 85° before being raised upright.
