The workpiece transportation apparatus 10 comprises a pair of arm units 14 which are supported by base bodies 13 arranged at proper places between press stages, and connect a plurality of arms 15, 16 so as to mutually swivel respectively, workpiece gripping mechanisms mounted between the tip ends of the respective arm units 14, and an elevating unit 12 for elevating a pair of the arm units 14 via the base bodies 13. The workpiece W held by the workpiece gripping mechanism is transferred between the press stages by operating a pair of the arm units 14 and the elevating unit 12.
