Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the strength of a thread portion of a worm, and to greatly reduce the cost of forming the thread portion by forming it only by rolling without cutting by designing the cross section of the tooth bottom of the thread portion of the worm so as to have a shape formable by rolling.
SOLUTION: The worm operates to transmit power between two axes which engage with a worm wheel and interlock with each other. The worm can be formed by rolling because the cross section of the tooth bottom of the thread portion is designed so as to have a circular arc shape.
