To provide a wind appearance evaluation method and so on, which are able to evaluate a wound appearance correctly.
In a wound appearance evaluation method, a wind appearance evaluation device 10 with a housing 15 provided with a sensor near a take-up machine 5 is installed, the roughness of the lateral surface of a belt-like body wound by the take-up machine 5 is measured by a sensor, and the wound appearance of the belt-like body is evaluated from the measurement result. The method comprises an adjustment step in which the direction of the housing 15 with the sensor is adjusted in order to move the sensor in parallel to the center axis of the belt-like body taken up by the take-up machine 5. In the adjustment step, the direction of the housing 15 is adjusted so that two jigs 40 extending in parallel from both the left and right sides of the housing 15 come into contact with a reference body 8 extending in parallel to a center axis provided for the take-up machine 5.
