To provide a wound battery and its manufacturing method, wherein a positive electrode active material sheet of an electrode body is electrically connected to a positive electrode external terminal, and a negative electrode active material sheet of an electrode body to a negative electrode external terminal not by welding but by connection, thereby this battery can be manufactured easily, and high performance can be realized by reducing voltage drop.
This is the wound battery D provided with an electrode body 1 in which a positive electrode active material sheet 2 and a negative electrode active material sheet 4 are spirally wound around via a separator 30 or 31, and positive electrode external terminals 6 or negative electrode external terminals 7 opposedly arranged respectively at both end parts 2a, 4a of the electrode body 1. The both sheets 2, 4 are overlapped in a state of deviating in an axial direction and spirally wound around so that different polarities are protruded at each end part 2a, 2b of the electrode body 1, and the protruded positive electrode active material sheet 2 of the electrode body 1 is electrically connected to the positive electrode external terminal 6 and the protruded negative electrode active material sheet 4 of the electrode body 1 to the negative electrode external terminal 7, respectively by contact.
