To provide a wound type battery equipped with an electrode body created by winding a cathode, an anode and a separator, each formed in shape of a belt and stacked one on top of another, the separator being realized in an easily producible structure and capable of preventing a short-circuit from occurring at widthwise edges of the cathode and the anode.
The wound type battery includes an electrode body (30) composed by winding a cathode (31), an anode (32) and a separator (33), each formed in shape of a belt and stacked one on top of another. The separator (33) is disposed on each of the cathode (31) and the anode (32) so as to be stacked one on top of another in the thickness direction. At least one of the separator (33) has a bent portion (33a) which has at least one of opposite ends folded in short direction of the separator (33). The bent portion (33a) is positioned so as to overlap widthwise edges of the cathode (31) and the anode (32) in the thickness direction.
